A MOTORIST from Barrow has been disqualified from driving for a year after he was caught behind the wheel while under the influence of cocaine.
Philip George Keith Davey, of St Luke's Street, pleaded guilty to driving with levels of cocaine and benzoylecgonine above the prescribed limit. Benzoylecgonine is a metabolite of cocaine.
The 50-year-old pleaded guilty to the two offences when he appeared at Furness Magistrates' Court yesterday.
He was banned from driving for 12 months, fined £280 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £30 surcharge.
