BARROW is the easiest place to pass your driving test, a new study has claimed.

A survey by Privilege Car Insurance details where are the best and worst places to succeed in passing the driving test.

According to analysis of five years of Driving and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) data, the ‘easiest’ place in the UK to take your test is Barrow with just one in three (33.93 per cent) learner drivers failing in the last five years.

Barrow is followed by Whitby, North Yorkshire (34.54 per cent) and Llandrindod Wells, in Powys (34.94 per cent).

Lampeter in Ceredigion, and Pwllheli in Gwynedd are the eighth and ninth easiest places to take the driving test, with a pass rate of 36.6 per cent and 37 per cent, respectively.

Privilege also looked into the most common reasons for failing a driving test. A Freedom of Information Act request revealed that lack of observation at junctions, not checking mirrors, steering control and turning right at junctions are the most common reasons people fail their driving test.
