MEDICAL staff, consultants, doctors, nurses, catering staff, cleaners and administrators at Furness General Hospital sacrificed spending Christmas Day with their loved ones in order to keep ours safe.
Pictures of some of the accident and emergency team, theatre crew and other vital medical staff have been published online as bosses thank those who manned the Barrow hospital on Christmas Day.
The images were posted by Wael Elgallad, an Egyptian doctor currently working at FGH.
In a caption accompanying the pictures, he said: "Some of the nurses and doctors who worked in FGH on Christmas Day. Well done all."
