A MARATHON six-hour school football match raised hundreds of pounds to help others.
Victoria Academy staged the mammoth match as part of the school's "Making the World Awesome" project.
Players rotated in 40 minutes sessions to complete the game, which ended 84-61.
The whole Barrow school came out on to the school field at different points in the day to play in the match, cheer the teams on and take part in activities with Barrow AFC. They also enjoyed a bouncy castle and sweet stall. Parents also came along to the event.
The day raised £545, which is being split between Alder Hey Children's Hospital, where an ex-pupil is a patient, and a project for next year when Year Six will help elderly people in their community.
Other projects this year included creating a break-time buddy bench, happy lists and interviewing grown ups about their childhoods.
Jack Buckingham, 11, who scored nine goals, said: "It was great to know we were doing something for a good cause."
PE teacher Craig Rutherford, said: "It was a fantastic day that was really well supported.
