A 23-YEAR-OLD driver has been banned from driving after being more than double the legal limit.

Jack Patrick Crowe, of Holbeck Park Avenue, Barrow, crashed through a wall outside his home after losing control of his Ford Fiesta on October 2.

He pleaded guilty to drink driving at South Cumbria Magistrates' Court in Barrow today (7) after having 188 milligrammes of alcohol in 100ml of blood.

Crowe was more than double the legal limit of 80 milligrammes.

Lee Dacre, prosecuting, said: "At 1.05am he collided with a wall as he was on his way home.

"He travelling straight through it before coming to rest at a grassed area next to his home on Holbeck Park Avenue.

"When police officers attended the scene they found him limping in the doorway with blood everywhere."

Trystan Roberts, defending, said: "He accepts he lost control and he hadn't realised how far over the limit he was.

"The wall has been repaired and he has apologised. The injuries he sustained were his own fault."
