A WOMAN admitted to drink-driving after reading more than double the legal limit when breathalysed.

Christine Cassells, of Buccleuch Court, Barrow, appeared at Furness Magistrates' Court on July 26 where she pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol.

The court heard how the 50-year-old driver collided with another vehicle in the early hours of January 17.

Cassells' breathalyser reading was 83 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath - the legal limit is 35.

Cassells was disqualified for 20 months, fined £120 and ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a £30 victim surcharge.
