MOTORISTS will have the option of paying 40p to park for 20 minutes on a number of town centre car parks in Barrow.
Under changes being brought in by Barrow Borough Council from April 1, companies wanting to buy annual car parking permits on council-run car parks will receive greater discounts if they purchase more spaces.
The discounts, which can be used at car parks including those at the town hall, Grange and Cartmel Crescent and McClean Close, will be a reduction of 10 per cent for 10-19 spaces, 20 per cent for 20-29 spaces and 30 per cent for more than 30 spaces.
Car parks in Oldham Street, Hall Street, Fell Street and Whittaker Street will have a 40p for 20 minutes option.
