Broad Close, Ormsgill, where a woman was found dead by police earlier today.
A WOMAN was found dead in Barrow flat.
Detectives say that at 10.10am on Sunday, officers were called to a ground floor flat on Broad Close, Ormsgill.
The call was from a member of the public concerned for the welfare of the female occupant.
Emergency services gained access to the flat where a woman's body was found. She was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
Resident Paul Turner, 29, of Broad Close said: "Police vans, a crime scene crew and an ambulance were at her house for about two hours.
"I never heard of something like this happening round here before."
Police say they have not identified the woman and that the inquiry is in the early stages.
