A BARROW man will appear in the Crown Court over allegations he had possession of a chair leg as a weapon in public.
Christopher Cooke, 22, of Broad Close, did not enter a plea when he appeared at Furness Magistrates' Court yesterday charged with possessing an offensive weapon in public in Broad Close on August 19.
The charge states the weapon was a wooden chair leg with a taped handle.
He was represented in court by defence solicitor Trystan Roberts.
The case was referred to Preston Crown Court, with a first hearing scheduled for Friday October 7.
Cooke was granted unconditional bail until that date.
