A CAT that went missing for 12 days has been found - almost 10 miles from its home in Barrow.

Jaz, a Tabby cat with a white bib and white back legs, was last seen on Tuesday October 11 in South View, Barrow.

Her owner Carolyn Hill posted an advert in the Evening Mail and online on Facebook groups over the last week and a half to find her beloved pet.

Jaz was eventually found in Kirkby-in-Furness by a family who posted in a Facebook group for lost pets in Barrow and the pair were reunited this morning after more than 10 days apart.

Mrs Hill said: "I've got no idea how she got there but the relief is extreme.

"You can't imagine how grateful I am. The family who found her have cats of their own and they heard her last night. When they took her in she was starving, she was so hungry.

"I checked Facebook this morning and saw that she had been found so I got across to Kirkby. They were lovely people."

After a long time apart, Mrs Hill insists that she'll now be keeping a very watchful eye on her adventurous Tabby.

She added: "She is grounded for the foreseeable future! She likes getting into vans and she is very curious so there is a chance she has got into a vehicle but you just don't know where cats go half of the time.

"I am so happy and very relieved that she's been found."
