AN ADRENALINE junkie is throwing himself out of a plane in the name of charity. Steven Monk-Dalton is taking part in a sponsored sky-dive which will see him fall 4,000 metres.

Barrow-born Mr Monk-Dalton who now lives in Torrevieja, Spain is completing the jump for the charity reunite, a cause close to his heart.

The 47-year-old said: "I like to think this is me giving something back.

"It's my first sky-dive but I haven't really thought about it, but it should be great."

The contractor regularly works in the area and said he was also completing the jump in honour of his late mother Doreen.

He said: "She always wanted to do a parachute jump, as if three bungee jumps and a fire-walk wasn't enough."

Mrs Dalton was unable to complete a sky-dive due to health reasons.

So far, Mr Monk-Dalton has raised around £500.

Reunite international is a charity which provides support to people affected by the movement of children across borders.

The former swimmer is a passionate campaigner for the charity which took more than 17,000 calls last year alone.

Due to strict child protection laws many families have to suffer in silence while experiencing the trauma of having a child taken abroad.
