FROM the medieval ruins of Furness Abbey and to the shores of Windermere, everywhere now appears to have an autumnal golden glow.
Youngsters Halligan and Marcus Spinks have had much fun playing in the crisp autumn leaves at Happy Tots Day Nursery, in Abbey Road, Barrow.
The changing colours of the leaves and the stunning sunsets and sunrises have also been captured in images of Windermere, Derwentwater and Lowther Castle.
The change from green leaves to the yellow, red and brown colours is down to the drop in temperatures as autumn arrives. The Chlorophyll chemical begins to break down as the temperatures fall.
