SHOPPERS in Barrow have long campaigned and called for new outlets to open up in the town centre - but which did readers say they would most like to see?
But can Barrow's economy sustain a new major retailer? And does everyone REALLY want a Primark?
As well as a number of empty shops in Dalton Road and Portland Walk, out-of-town retail parks have availability - from the former PC World (surely large enough for a Primark?) to what used to be Brantano at Hindpool Retail Park - where there's still no sign of a new Dreams store promised months ago.
And let's not forget the possibilities for new restaurants or fast-food chains - we won't mention the Burger King or Nando's debate...
We asked you to tell us what you think.
We asked, of the following eight shops, which you would most like to see open in Barrow.
Perhaps not surprisingly, Primark was a clear winner with 56 per cent of the vote.
They were followed by H&M with 10 per cent, Zara on nine per cent, Toys R Us on eight per cent, Ann Summers with six per cent, Schuh with five per cent and both Jack & Jones and Accessorize bringing in three per cent.
The vote is still open - so have your say!
