A MAN is due to appear on trial next week, accused of assault and obstructing a police officer.
Wayne Johnson, 43, is expected to appear at Furness Magistrates' Court on Monday August 21 to face charges of assaulting and obstructing the men in Grange last month.
Johnson, of Elizabeth Street, denies assaulting Ciprian Basa in Grange on June 5 and also denies obstructing PC Matthews in the execution of duty on July 6.
The Salford resident previously pleaded not guilty on July 5 when he appeared in court and the matter was adjourned again on August 17.
