And there’s more . . . .

BRITAIN’S Energy Coast has scored another win with the Regional Growth Fund as part of Cumbria Local Enterprise Partnership’s Unleashing Cumbria’s Potential bid.
BEC will deliver a programme of activities designed to help companies and entrepreneurs grasp new opportunities in West Cumbria’s world-class nuclear industry as well as to diversify into new Clean Technologies, in particular “wet renewables” such as tidal and wave.
David Jones, Head of Projects, Energy and Business Support at Britain’s Energy Coast, said: “We’re delighted that, as part of a wider Cumbria Local Enterprise Partnership bid, we have secured this funding for our Low Carbon Economy programme. Activities will include links to research development and funding to help businesses bring new innovations and products to market.
“The award demonstrates just how important our work is to achieving local and national goals when it comes to the energy agenda.”
BEC will have a share of a £5m pot of funding that has been secured through the Cumbria LEP bid.
Cumbria Chamber of Commerce and Cumbria County Council in partnership with CN Group as media partner will offer a funding programme to support specialist manufacturers, exporters and SMEs.
It is hoped that all funding will be available in the spring following a period of due diligence. In the meantime businesses wishing to register their interest can email info@cumbrialep.co.uk.
