Mail backs radio station’s toy appeal

A RADIO station has launched its annual Christmas toy appeal for needy children.

The Bay is asking its listeners across Furness, South Lakeland and north Lancashire, to donate new and nearly new, unwrapped toys, so they can be distributed to underprivileged youngsters this Christmas.

In recent years, thousands of generous listeners have given toys to The Bay Christmas Toy Appeal.

And station bosses say they are confident that the generosity will continue.

Darren Milby, host of The Bay breakfast show, said: “It is a privilege to be involved once again, helping the kids in the Bay area enjoy unwrapping toys from our Christmas appeal. It’s such a worthwhile cause.”

The appeal is backed by the Evening Mail and we are collecting toys at our offices.

Toys can be handed in at our offices in Abbey Road, Barrow, and Market Street, Ulverston, weekdays from 9am-5pm.

They can also be left at the Barrow office, between 8.30am and 11am on Saturdays.

They are also being collected at our Millom office in Wellington Street, on weekdays between 9am and 2.30pm. Other drop-off points include The Bay’s reception on St George’s Quay, Lancaster. The drop-off deadline is December 13.
