One chance to do right for our children

REGARDING the advertisement for principal of Barrow Academy, I find that Cumbria County Council’s mis-information department has been at work again, although no doubt they will once again hide behind the shirt-tails of their consultant, Mouchel.

The information supplied to prospective applicants includes:

a. inaccurate information regarding estate agents and letting agents,

b. the attractions of Superbowl,

c. the academy being on one site (and I foolishly thought that the deadline over the consultation on one or two sites was November 21),

d. the Lakes really meeting the sea, as the academy appears to have views over Windermere.

Unless their website has been updated in the last fortnight, Mouchel do not seem to have much experience of setting up academies, and if they cannot get basic facts about Barrow correct, can we really trust them with more important issues such as our children’s education?

I implore Cumbria County Council to exercise proper supervision over the whole academy process before even more serious mistakes are made. We will not get a second chance to do the right thing for our children.
