ST Mary’s Hospice is introducing a new academic course around the social, philosophical and personal issues of death and dying.
It is organised in three modules, death and dying in contemporary society, spiritual care as end-of-life care and philosophical, ethical and legal aspects of death and dying.
To meet course requirements students will need access to a computer, be able to perform internet searches, and must be willing to reflect on personal or professional experience, engage in dialogue and complete a project paper. The first module will start on Friday November 14 and runs for the following three Fridays, from 9am until 5pm.
The second module will begin on January 1 and will run for three alternate Tuesdays, from 9am until 5pm. The third module will begin on March 4 and will run for the following three Wednesdays, from 9am until 5pm.
All modules will run in the Farraday Suite in St Mary’s Hospice, Ulverston.
The course fee is £210 per module. Advice on assistance with funding from a variety of sources is available on request.
Each module can be taken independently.
