26.2 miles is the challenge Jonathan Lee has set himself when he takes on the London Marathon this year.
The CN Group development director is taking on the huge physical challenge on April 24 to raise money for the Focus on Furness appeal.
The marathon is a demanding and mental obstacle for everybody who dares take it on, but it will be even more so for Mr Lee given the fact he could not run one mile just 18 months ago.
Mr Lee said: "The motivation for my first, and probably only, London Marathon is to help disadvantaged and vulnerable children and young people get a better start in life.
"Children from poorer backgrounds lag behind at all stages of education and are twice as likely to live in bad housing.
"This has significant effects on their physical and mental health, as well as educational achievement."
