Barrow woman’s bike prize made an ideal Christmas gift for son

A WHEELIE great competition prize proved to be a Christmas Day hit.

Kathryn and Richard Farrow have just returned to Barrow after living in New Zealand for more than five years.

Their four-year-old son, Isaac, had to leave his bike behind during the move in September but his parents promised to buy him a new bike in England.

Mrs Farrow saw an Evening Mail competition to win a £245 child’s Frog bike from Barrow’s Topmark store so she entered.

The 37-year-old was delighted to receive the news that she had won.

The lightweight child’s bike was then put away for Christmas as a surprise for Isaac.

Mrs Farrow, of Highfield Road, Barrow, said: “Isaac had to leave his bike behind. I saw the competition and thought I’d give it a go.

“I was thrilled to hear we’d won. It was lovely to win a bike from such a well-respected local retailer and they were so helpful at Topmark.

“Isaac’s face was a picture when he saw the bike.”

Topmark is based in Greengate Street, Barrow.

Helen Robinson was another Christmas winner with the Evening Mail. She won £100 by taking part in an Evening Mail reader survey as part of a review of the newspaper’s content.
