Barrow winner scoops £1,000 courtesy of the new-look Evening Mail

ONE lucky reader is quids in thanks to the Evening Mail’s relaunch.
Regular reader Janice Reynolds, of Rampside, entered the competition to win £1,000 which heralded the launch of the new-look Evening Mail in January.
Mrs Reynolds, 62, was the lucky reader to pick up the cash after we received hundreds of entries.
Already the retiree is planning to spend the cash with her family.
The grandmother of eight said she is a regular Evening Mail reader and said the recently launched redesign has made the Evening Mail much easier on the eye.
She said: “I was at home and I got a phone call, when they told me I’d won I had to get them to repeat it a couple of times.
“I’m a regular reader and I’ve entered a few competitions but I’ve never won anything before.”
Mrs Reynolds, a former healthcare worker, is planning a holiday with her husband, Brian, later in the year – though the couple have yet to pick a destination.
However, she said the money would also be spent on treating her family with a substantial chunk being earmarked for her eight grand-children.
She added: “When I told my husband he said ‘lucky you!’.
“We’re going to use the money for our holiday and see what the grandchildren would like. After this win it has definitely encouraged me to enter competitions in the future.”
