Barrow man faces gun charges

POLICE have charged a Barrow man with firearm offences following an altercation in the town this weekend.

Darren Fawcett, 39, who is currently residing in Marsden Street, Barrow has been charged with possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, common assault and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place

He is due to appear in Furness and District Magistrates Court today.

The charges follow an incident that occurred at Adelphi Court at 5.30pm on Saturday where a local man in his 30s was assaulted and threatened. He suffered minor injuries.

Police attended and a BB gun was seized.
