Barrow man accused of stealing cigarettes

A 47-year-old Barrow man is to stand trial for allegedly stealing a packets of cigarettes and using threatening behaviour.

David Cottier, of Egerton Court, Barrow Island appeared before Furness Magistrates’ Court yesterday and pleaded not guilty.

The charges are said to have taken place on January 23.

He has been released on conditional bail and is set to appear before Preston Crown Court on April 25.
