Barrow drug driver banned

A MOTORIST found to be under the influence of drugs while behind the wheel has been banned from driving.

Nicola Baker, 30, of Broadway, Barrow, tested positive for mephedrone and diazepam after she was stopped by police in Hindpool Road on July 24.

She pleaded guilty to driving a vehicle whilst unfit through drugs when she appeared at Furness Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

District judge Gerald Chalk disqualified Baker from driving for 18 months and ordered her to pay a £110 fine, £85 in costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
