BAE Systems Barrow submarine section on move

A SECTION of a submarine built by BAE Systems in Barrow moved through the town's streets yesterday.

A large section of the fifth Astute class submarine, Anson, was transported from the New Assembly Shop, to the Devonshire Dock Hall (DDH) yesterday morning.

At around 9.15am  yesterday the ‘forward end construction’ – the large section of the front of the submarine – was moved from the main shipyard gates in Bridge Road to the Devonshire Dock Hall gate in North Road.
