Accident at Swarthmoor

A MOTORCYCLIST has suffered serious injuries in an accident on the A590.

The accident occurred at the junction of Swarthmoor and Croftlands near Ulverston at 5.38pm yesterday.

The road was temporarily closed and traffic was redirected whilst police dealt with the incident. The road reopened at around 6.45pm, however traffic in the area was severely disrupted.

A spokesman for Cumbria police confirmed the accident involved a car and a motorcycle.

A young female, who is from the Barrow area, was taken to Furness General Hospital with severe leg and pelvic injuries.

Have your say

THINK BIKE!!!!

I drive in and out of this junction every day and its often very busy so yes please drive/ride carefully !

Frankie, yes think bike but also can the minority of bikers who think speed limits and the highway code dont apply to them please think about all road users and no just their own selfishness.... I watched a young lad on a bike overtaking cars way in excess of the limit on Walney Road/Park road on Wed morning this week causing oncoming cars to swerve out of the way, bikers like him give proper bikers a bad name.

Have a quick recovery Miss Biker !
