GREY skies and showers have been sweeping across the area with average temperatures coming in at around 12 C.

Tonight: Showers will continue to affect western and southern parts of the British Isles, some heavy and possibly thundery. Elsewhere it will be largely dry with variable amounts of cloud but there is still the chance of the odd isolated shower.

Monday: It looks set to be bright for many with some sunny spells. However, showers will tend to affect western areas of the UK during the day.

Later in the day it will turn cloudier across the north-west with some longer spells of rain moving in during the evening. Remaining breezy.

UK Outlook (Tuesday and Wednesday): A band of rain will move across the country during Tuesday morning which could produce some heavy or even thundery outbreaks at times. The rain will clear east to leave scattered showers but some good sunny spells too. A breezy day. Turning drier and less windy into Wednesday with variable cloud amounts and good sunny spells. There will still be a few showers around though, particularly towards the east coast.
