A 21-year-old has been given jail time after he was caught in possession of heroin and cocaine.
Daniel Leyland of Haresfinch Road, St Helens was sentenced to two years in prison on September 29 after previously pleading guilty at Carlisle Crown Court to possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.
Leyland tried to flee after being approached by officers in Kendal on Monday July 25.
He was caught carrying heroin and cocaine in the pockets of his shorts.
Sergeant Jamie Eaton said: "All too often people are persuaded to transport drugs into Cumbria.
"These can have a damaging and long-lasting effect on our communities and we continuously work to penetrate the supply of drugs onto our streets and to put the suppliers behind bars.
"The prison sentence handed down to Leyland shows that we will not tolerate drug suppliers in our county."
