A TEENAGE boy suffered serious injuries to his face after falling off his mountain bike in Cumbria.
The 15-year-old, from Gateshead, fell off his bike near Alston at around 4.45pm and was treated at the scene by paramedics and Penrith Mountain Rescue Team.
The Great North Air Ambulance was dispatched to the scene to treat the boy and fly him to the Royal Victoria Infirmary.
The boy was described as having severe injuries and was stable on arrival at the Newcastle hospital.
