ENGINEERS from Electricity North West have resolved the power cut that was affecting homes in Askam and Kirkby.
The electricity provider described the incident as a "high voltage fault" and was due to damage to equipment.
Earlier tonight a spokesman from Electricity North West said: "Our engineers are aware of the problem and a team is currently travelling to site.
"We apologise for the inconvenience caused by the interruption to your supply and our engineers will work to restore your power as soon as possible."
The estimated time for the power to be restored was 6.50pm but according to the Electricity North West website power was restored at 9pm.
