Police called to serious collision on the M6 in Cumbria
POLICE are currently dealing with a serious two-vehicle collision on the M6 at J40.
Officers were called at 1.47am to reports of the incident, which involves two HGVs, on the northbound entry slip road.
Only one lane of the slip road is open and delays are to be expected for some time.
The lanes heading west on the A66 have also been reduced and traffic is slow moving.
Emergency services are at the scene and motorists are asked to avoid the area.
