Who doesn't love a cat photo? Here's your chance to share with the world the best pictures of your cats!

International Cat Day is 24 hours of recognition and veneration of one of humanity’s oldest and most beloved pets.

The festivities were put together for the first time in 2002 by the International Fund for Animal Welfare and other animal rights groups, to celebrate the most popular pet on the planet.

Organisers say there are an estimated 500 million cats are thought to be frolicking in neighbours’ gardens across the world.

Owning a cat has also been shown to improve mental health and to relieve stress, anxiety and depression.

Our chief reporter Sarah Moore has shared some photos of her cat Holly (well, she sent us 62) - and we'd love to see your photos of your feline friends.

Head of digital content West Cumbria Nicole Regan has four cats - Perry, Mason, Frank and Sam - and claims this does not make her a crazy cat lady as they belong to her husband. Honestly.

And our editorial assistant Lynne Wild's cat, Baby, hates being dressed up but loves helping with car insurance renewals.
