A number of roads are blocked as ex-hurricane Ophelia batters the county tonight.

West Cumbria is bearing the brunt of the storm. Debris is scattered across the roads and branches of trees have been blown down.

Firefighters from Workington were called at about 6.50pm to a property in Seaton where parts of the roof had blown off

There have been reports of trees fallen at Netherton Road in Maryport, between Keekle and Bowthorn near Cleator Moor, and in Whitehaven town centre at Scotch Street and New Road, between Tesco and the Pelican garage.
