Here's a round-up of the biggest stories from the UK and abroad.

PERSONAL ATTACKS ON DAVID CAMERON ARE A MISTAKE, BREXIT CAMP IS WARNED

The Brexit camp's highly personalised onslaught on Prime Minister David Cameron has been condemned by a leading Out advocate. Labour former minister Frank Field warned that "putting sticky fingers into people's souls" would backfire for the Leave push.

The interventions followed a weekend of Tory warfare in which pro-Brexit Conservative MPs branded Mr Cameron "corrosive" and a "liar" as they openly plotted to try to oust him even if Remain achieves a narrow win in the referendum.

TWO CHILDREN AMONG 20 RESCUED AFTER BOAT SINKS IN ENGLISH CHANNEL

Two children were among a group of 18 Albanians and two British people rescued from the English Channel after their inflatable boat began to sink. The UK Coastguard received a call for assistance just off the coast of Dymchurch in Kent at 11.40pm on Saturday.

A search-and-rescue helicopter was deployed as well as lifeboats and coastguard rescue teams. The rhib (rigid-hulled inflatable boat), with 20 people on board, was found at 2am and the matter was handed over to Border Force.

BLEACHING KILLS THIRD OF CORAL IN PARTS OF GREAT BARRIER REEF

Mass bleaching has killed more than a third of the coral in the northern and central parts of Australia's Great Barrier Reef, scientists say.

The ARC Centre of Excellence for Coral Reef Studies released the results of its survey of the 1,430-mile reef off Australia's east coast on Monday. The scientists found that about 35% of the coral in the northern and central sections of the reef are dead or dying.

Some parts of the reef had lost more than half of the coral to bleaching, though corals to the south have escaped with little damage.

JEFF GOLDBLUM SAYS JURASSIC WORLD FILMS ARE DOING FINE WITHOUT HIM

Actor Jeff Goldblum says he has not been asked to appear in the upcoming Jurassic World sequel. The Hollywood star, who played Dr Ian Malcolm in Jurassic Park and The Lost World: Jurassic Park in the 1990s, said he was "entirely satisfied" with his work on the film series.

But he said he was not aware of plans to reprise his character for the follow-up to the 2015 blockbuster Jurassic World.

NOISE IN INTENSIVE CARE UNIT 'CLEARLY EXCEEDED' RECOMMENDED LEVEL

Hospital intensive care units generate a cacophony of noise that far exceeds World Health Organisation (WHO) guidelines, research suggests. Staff running a typical intensive care unit (ICU) in Belgium carried out a study of noise levels in one ward after complaints from patients.

They used a sound level monitor to record decibels continuously for 24 hours beside a bed and at a nursing station.

CHRIS EVANS POKES FUN AT JEREMY CLARKSON ON FIRST EPISODE OF REVAMPED TOP GEAR

Chris Evans had a light-hearted dig at Jeremy Clarkson minutes after the revamped Top Gear was unveiled.

The much-loved motoring show returned to screens with Evans and former Friends actor Matt LeBlanc at the helm.

Previous frontman Clarkson was sacked for an "unprovoked physical and verbal attack" on a producer, apparently over catering, and Evans could not resist bringing it up during his opening segment.

TUNISIANS URGE RETHINK IN TRAVEL ADVICE FROM FOREIGN OFFICE

The Government's refusal to relax its travel advice for Tunisia almost one year after the deadly attack near Sousse is allowing the perpetrators to believe they are "on the winning side", the country's UK-based tourism officials said.

Some 30 Britons were killed by gunman Seifeddine Rezgui in the coastal resort of Port El Kantaoui on June 26 last year, leading the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) to advise against all but essential travel to the North African country. Terror group Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack.

LIVES OF MIGRANT CHILDREN 'IN THE HANDS OF SMUGGLERS', UNICEF WARNS

As more than 700 migrants are feared to have drowned crossing the Mediterranean Sea, Unicef has warned the lives of children "are in the hands of smugglers".

Hundreds of people are currently missing after three separate shipwrecks in the past week - marking what is thought to be one of the largest losses of life since April last year when an estimated 800 died as a single vessel sank.

Many of those who died attempting the dangerous crossing from Libya to Italy are believed to be unaccompanied minors, according to Unicef, the UN children's organisation.

CROCODILE ATTACK WOMAN MISSING AFTER AUSTRALIA BEACH SWIM

A woman struggled in vain to drag her friend from a crocodile's jaws during a late night swim off an Australian beach. The pair were in shallow water at Thornton Beach in the World Heritage-listed Daintree National Park in Queensland state when the 46-year-old woman was taken by the crocodile at 10:30pm local time on Sunday.

Police Senior Constable Russell Parker said: "Her 47-year-old friend tried to grab her and drag her to safety but she just wasn't able to do that."

BOY, 7, VANISHES AFTER PARENTS LEAVE HIM IN JAPAN FOREST 'AS PUNISHMENT'

A seven-year-old boy is missing in a Japanese forest after his parents reportedly made him get out of the car as punishment. Rescue workers resumed searching on Monday in a wooded area on Hokkaido, the northernmost of Japan's four main islands.

He has been missing since late Saturday afternoon. Japanese media say the parents initially told police that their son had disappeared while they were picking wild vegetables, but they later admitted they had made him get out of the car to punish him for throwing rocks while playing at a river earlier in the day.
