A MAN in his seventies had to be rescued by air ambulance after developing a life-threatening condition.
The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to assist the Langdale Ambleside Mountain Rescue team who were dealing with a man suffering from hypothermia and feeling unwell on September 7 at 4pm, on Calf Crag, Ambleside.
Paramedics and the GNAAS doctor treated the man before he was airlifted to Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle.
He is now believed to be in a stable condition.
