A MAN was airlifted to hospital after a crash on the M6 motorway in South Cumbria.
Emergency services were called to the crash between junctions 37 and 38 south of Tebay at around 4.35pm yesterday.
Firefighters used cutting equipment to rescue a 67-year-old man from a car which had rolled over several times. He was treated by paramedics at the scene before being flown by the Great North Air Ambulance to Carlisle's Cumberland Infirmary where he arrived in a stable condition.
Motorists experienced delays for over an hour during the incident.
