A MAN accused of assaulting a member of staff at a Barrow hospital is set to stand trial tomorrow.
Jamil Miah, 29, of Spencer Street, Burnley, pleaded not guilty to assaulting Peter Dyer, who works at Furness General Hospital, at a hearing on October 13 at Furness Magistrates' Court.
Miah also denied using threatening, abusive, insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause fear or provoke unlawful violence towards Mr Dyer and his colleague Stephanie Gillies.
The defendant was granted conditional bail following his plea which prevented him from entering Cumbria prior to his trial date.
He also had to report to Burnley police station on a daily basis and not contact any of the witnesses involved in the case.
