A SERIES of lane closures will be in place on the A590 next week to allow highways workers to cut the grass verges and spray weeds.

From Monday until Wednesday between Junction 36 of the M6 and the Brettargh Holt roundabout, a 24-hour one lane closure will be in place with the lane switching while work is carried out.

The carriageway will still be open but at times only one lane will be accessible.

Then from Wednesday to Friday, the lane closures will affect the section of the A590 between the Brettargh Holt roundabout and Gilpin Bridge near Levens.

Work being carried out will include grass cutting, weed spraying, gully emptying and litter removal.
