ICY conditions on the roads are causing problems for motorists this morning, with police called to a crash earlier this morning.

Officers were called to the A595 at Askam at 4.20am after a white Mazda came off the road on a bend.

Police confirm the car ended up half in a ditch, but no one was injured.

No other vehicles were involved.

A yellow Met Office warning remains in place for tomorrow morning (29) between 3am and 12pm.

The Met Office says a spell of snow is likely across parts of northern England and southern Scotland on Friday morning. Some roads and railways are likely to be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services.

Some delays to air travel are also possible.
