HOUSEHOLDS are continuing to pay more for their water, as new data shows year-on-year prices have continued to rise in Cumbria.

Research by bath and shower company, showerstoyou.co.uk compiled data from providers across England to show the disparity in pricing.

In Cumbria, the average combined bill with United Utilities in 2015/16 was £409, £411 in 2016/17 and £419 for 2017/18- a difference of 2.44 per cent.

These prices were also higher than the national averages of £387 for 2015/16, £389 2016/17 and £395 in 2017/18.
