FRESH-FACED Furness pilot Ryan Clyde is back on our TV screens tonight at 9pm in the second episode of EasyJet: Inside The Cockpit.

Millions of viewers tuned in last week and saw the 21-year-old, of Askam, embark on his first flight in training.

Tonight the nation will see the former Chetwynde School headboy land his first passenger filled plane in Paris at night.

He was 20 at the time of filming for the ITV documentary and was starting out with his training with easyJet.

Now a first officer, he is fulfilling his dream career. He is based at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris, but from May he will be based at Manchester.

When he was a sixth former, Mr Cylde won a Barrow and District Association of Engineers bursary prize of ยฃ250. He had wanted to be a pilot since he was a child and was further inspired by a talk by Graham Sturgeon, a British Airways pilot, from Barrow.

Mr Clyde's school community at Chetwynde are proud to see him doing well in his career.

Simon Spencer, the pilot's former head of sixth form, who has now retired, said: "It's wonderful, he's such a confident and articulate young man."
