LITTLE SUBS
Where: Barrow
Best for: From birth to four/five-year-olds
Opening times: 9am-6pm
The hugely-popular soft play area, which now boasts a large bouncy castle area, is a firm favourite with parents of babies, toddlers and young children in Barrow. Entrance costs from £1 for up to 11 months, £2.95 for 12-23-month-old children and £3.95 for children aged over two.
INTERACT
OLD HALL FARM
Where: Bouth near Ulverston
Best for: Children and families of all ages
Opening times: 10am-5pm
This traditional working farm offers a great interactive experience for kids of all ages - families can feed the animals, watch the shire horse in action, milk the cows and get a close look at the tractor and steam engine. Entrance is £8.25 for adults, £5.75 for children aged 3-15 and free for under 3s, or a family ticket (two adults and three children) is £27.
LEARN
DOCK MUSEUM
Where: Barrow
Best for: Children of school age upwards
Opening times: 11am-4pm Wednesday to Sunday
The museum offers a fascinating insight into life in Barrow throughout history, including special collections and seasonal exhibitions. Entrance is free.
