A PIT Bull Terrier from Askam is set to be 'destroyed' after its owner pleaded guilty to a number of dangerous dog offences.
Timothy Alan Bolleslaw Szajduk appeared at Furness Magistrates' Court in Barrow on Friday where he pleaded guilty to being the owner of a dog which was dangerously out of control and the owner of a banned breed of dog.
The 55-year-old, of High Duddon Close, Askam, admitted being the owner of Randy, a Pit Bull Terrier, which was dangerously out of control in Saves Lane, Askam, on March 29.
He was fined £80 and ordered to pay compensation of £1,320 and costs of £350. Magistrates did not ban Szajduk from owning dogs in the future.
Four breeds of dog are currently banned in the UK: Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro or Brazilian Mastiff.
