MEMBERS of the public are being warned about texts that are being sent offering people a tax rebate. 

Copeland Borough Council is urging residents not to pay any attention to texts they might receive asking people to divulge their personal information in order to claim the nonexistent rebate. 

The council is advising people not to clink on web links contained in unsolicited texts or emails and never to share personal information with a third party from an unsolicited communication.
