THE MP for Copeland has joined in discussions with leading industries at the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority's Annual Stakeholder Summit.
Trudy Harrison joined more than 200 leading community, industry, regulators and workforce representatives from across the NDA estate and subsidiary companies.
The two-day event at Energus offered the chance to hear from senior voices from NDA, industry, government and those involved in regenerating communities.
Mrs Harrison said: "It was great to be involved in this year's NDA Stakeholder Summit and offer my views on the importance of nuclear on our communities.
"I am pleased that the government will be updating on the Small Modular Reactor competition in the autumn, as this offers a wealth of manufacturing opportunities – Copeland, as the centre of nuclear excellence, is well placed to lead the way."
