TWO good causes shared £1,500 raised by Broughton Ladies Guild from a Christmas bingo night held at the Victory Hall.
Martin Cooper, of Duddon and Furness Mountain Rescue and Sue McDonald, from Macmillan Cancer Support, each received cheques for £750.
Mr Cooper said the rescue service was completely funded by donations.
A competition for an artificial flower at the guild's last meeting was won by Beryl Ashcroft, with Nancy Postlethwaite the runner-up and Eileen Cathcart.
At the annual meeting, all the officers agreed to continue for a another year including chairman June Gibson and secretary Jean Day.
There will be no meeting in April and members will enjoy the Guild's Birthday Meal at the Square Cafe, Broughton.
