CAMELOT has revealed the luckiest locations for major National Lottery wins.

The RM postcode in Essex, which includes Romford, Dagenham, Hornchurch, Grays and Purfleet, has had more winners of £50,000 prizes or higher than anywhere else in the country.

RM is followed by TS (Teeside) in the North East and WA (Warrington) in the North West, based on major wins per head of population since the National Lottery began.

The prize-winning statistics have also been split by date to reveal that the TR (Truro) postcode in Cornwall has had more big winners per head over the past two years than anywhere else.

It is followed by the Scottish pair of PA (Paisley) and KA (Kilmarnock).

LE (Leicester) has had the most major prize winners at 63 - more than one a fortnight - over the past two years, but G (Glasgow) has seen 21 new millionaires over the same time.

The huge B (Birmingham) postcode remains the location of the most winners of £50,000 or more since the National Lottery began, at 1,180, and accounts for 127 of the 4,250 millionaires created so far.

The National Lottery's senior winners' advisor, Andy Carter, said: "It seems 'the only way is Essex' for big wins - well done to Romford for topping the charts.

"The stats reveal National Lottery luck is all over the country with numerous big winners and millionaires in every single postcode area."
