POLICE are investigating after a brick was thrown through a window of a train as it made its way along the Cumbrian Coast Line.

The front window of the locomotive was damaged near Workington at about 7.30pm yesterday.

PC Oliver Coppard, of British Transport Police, said: "This was an incredibly dangerous and reckless thing to do and could have claimed the life of the train driver.

"Thankfully no one was injured but it is important that the person who did this is identified to as soon as possible so they don’t repeat this foolish action.

"I would like to hear from anyone who might know what happened or know who threw this brick.
