Morrisons Supermarket, Barrow
BOSSES at supermarket giant Morrisons have said there is no truth in the rumours that its store in Barrow is to close.
A number of shoppers in Barrow had reported hearing rumours that the supermarket in The Strand was due to close.
The Evening Mail contacted Morrisons' head office for a response.
A spokeswoman for the retailer said there were "no plans" to close the store.
Latest grocery market share figures from Kantar reveal that Morrisons has around 10 per cent of the market, while Tesco leads the way with 27.9, followed by Sainsbury's with 16.5 and Asda with 15.7.
