A lucky binman went back to work days after scooping a massive lottery windfall.

Father-of-four Darren Taylor and his wife Vicky have still to dip into their £300,000 winnings a week after their win, but they have already made big plans for their future.

Top of their list is to buy their first family home together, something the couple, who have been together for 16 years, thought they would never achieve.

Darren says he'll also treat the family to their first trip to Disney World in Florida, as well as buying a new family car.

And the 36-year-old is planning to spoil himself with a motorbike, as well as treating Vicky to a new wardrobe of clothes.

The couple, who live in Whitehaven, are still coming to terms with their win.

"It hasn't sunk in yet," laughed Darren. "It still doesn't seem real. It's great just knowing that we can live comfortably.

"It is great that we will be able to afford to take our children on a holiday of a lifetime – something we could have only ever dreamed about.

"Every parent dreams of being able to take their children to Disney World but we could never afford it."

It was last Saturday night when Darren played one of The National Lottery's online £300K Bingo Instant Win games.

Vicky and the children, aged 17, 15 and twin six-year-olds, were in bed and he said he was feeling lucky.

"This particular game caught my eye so I went for it," he said. "When all of the zeroes flashed in front of me, I couldn't believe it.

"I've played online bingo one or two times, but only really won £5 or £10."

Vicky, who works as a support worker for Jemcare, said: "We still can't believe it. It all seems like a dream which we are going to wake from.

"I was asleep in bed when Darren discovered we had won and I actually thought I was in a dream when he woke me up."

They both say they have no plans to give up work, but Darren said he was so excited his bosses at Copeland Council let him take the following day off.

"I've been there 17 years," he said. "I will definitely be taking my work mates out for a celebratory breakfast."

The couple revealed that they played the same online bingo game the following night – adding it was "for a laugh".

"We're just going to carry on living how we do now," said Vicky. "We're still in shock, but it's great."

The £300K Bingo Instant Win game is on The National Lottery's GameStore.
